The Bengals have become the latest team to surprise the league and make the Superbowl and fans loved it. Joe Burrow won Comeback Player of the Year and was a feel-good story from start to finish. Ja’Marr Chase proved the doubters who thought they should take a lineman wrong and proved the Bengals right in their belief in the Burrow-Chase connection. However, the Joe Burrow will be back theory that everyone is talking about is complete horse hockey! Look at Dan Marino who was a promising young QB who lead his team to the Superbowl in year two, loses, and then never makes it back but has great statistical seasons to follow. Cam Newton is another QB who took his team to the big game, lost, and never made it back. The narrative that Burrow will bounce back and keep the Bengals relevant for ten years needs to be simmered. He had a great season but his O-line is hot garbage and his defense folds when the team needs them the most, and that isn’t a recipe for success.
