Alright people shut up and listen. This year’s playoffs has a ton of injuries but that does not mean this years champion gets an asterisk. This season is no different than any other season, stars got hurt. You could put a asterisk on any NBA season. For example, 1994 and 1995 the Houston Rockets won back-to-back ‘ships with Hakeem Olajuwon, but he was there in 93 and 96 and they didn’t win. What was the difference you ask? Michael Jordan missed most of both seasons when he went and played baseball for the White Sox. We don’t discredit Olajuwon’s rings, he earned them. The 1998 Chicago Bulls don’t get discredited because of David Robinson’s injury and the 1999 season champions, the San Antonio Spurs don’t have an asterisk due to the lockout season. My point is players get hurt and this year just played out that all the injuries seem to be happening in the playoffs, and if the Astros don’t get an asterisk for LITERALLY CHEATING IN THE WORLD SERIES, then no team should ever get one ever again.
Note: The 1919 Cincinnati Reds do have an asterisk on their championship as the White Sox, nicknamed the Black Sox, threw the series in exchange for money from an alleged mob leader. He put all his money on the Reds who were significant underdogs in the series and paid them off with his winnings.
