It’s rare a pro bowl player becomes available, and its rarer that two become available during the season. Today the Rams signed Odell Beckham Jr to a veterans minimum deal for the remainder of the season. He joins a team that already has Kupp, Woods and an emerging star in Van Jefferson. Jefferson will likely see the biggest regression in targets but all three will be affected in some way. Kupp will most likely not reach the 2,000-yard mark I previously stated we would surpass, and Woods could fall short of 1,000 yards for the second consecutive season. Matt Stafford will have a field day for the rest of the season with this amount of talent if they stay focused on the main goal of winning.
The other signing of the day that most people roll their eyes at is Cam Newton. Today the Panthers after the organization swallowed their pride and resigned the best QB in franchise history just two years after cutting him. As of now no one knows if he will start but you don’t sign a guy like Cam without giving him a chance. The Panthers next game at Bank of America stadium will be November 21st against the Washington Football Team and you already know the stadium will be rocking with the former MVP in the house. The tickets for the game have already risen in price 12% at the time of writing this and it will only rise more if Cam gets a real role on this offense.
