Ben Simmons Value?

As we all just saw in the NBA semifinals between the Hawks and 76ers, Ben Simmons was simply scared. Scared to shoot, scared to have the ball outside the paint, and scared to go to the free throw line. In the 4th quarter of all seven games combined, he shot the ball three times, making all three shots. The problem is if you look at all the 4th quarters he had many more opportunities than those three shots, including one in game 7 to tie the game. In my eyes the 76ers have to trade Ben Simmons this offseason and they have to do that while his "value" is at an all time low. Lets take a look at some of the teams who I think could pull the trigger and make a difference for their teams. First up:

Portland Trail Blazers: To start I want to say that Portland would be the best place in the league for Simmons, especially if they hire Becky Hammon as head coach. Simmons leads the league in three pointers assisted on since he came into the league. His value in a trade would be CJ McCollum, Zach Collins and a second round pick swap. Now obviously Portland won't just get Simmons back in the trade and both teams would need to get contracts to equal out, so if the trade does happen expect a few more pieces to be included.

San Antonio Spurs: The Spurs are my second option to acquire Simmons and it is also because of the coaching staff they have. Greg Popovich is the longest tenured head coach for a reason. The Spurs aren't the same shooting team as the Blazers but they have been progressing towards NBA normalcy. Simmons value from the Spurs would like something like; Demar Derozan ad a Second round pick or Patty Mills and Demar Derozan with Philly including a first round pick. This trade would work out for both teams because Derozan could be that second star to Embiid.

Golden State Warriors: This one is a wild card that I had to include because of the assisting ability of Simmons. Steph Curry would be able to flourish like his brother did this season, with Seth having a career year. Golden State would have to give up Wiggins, possibly Nico Mannion, and a second round pick. Golden State might possibly still need to add more in the trade but at the minimum those pieces would be included. This trade would be the worst for Wiggins because he would be in a large market with the eyes on him at all time.

Note: I think Ben Simmons is a quality defender and an even better playmaker, but without any shooting ability his value as a player is very low.
