Who Will Be The Next Head Coach Of The Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins made the head scratching decision to fire Brian Flores. The decision comes immediately after two winning seasons, but the team failed to make the playoffs in both seasons. Things were looking up after a 7-game win streak put the ‘Phins right back into the mix in the 2021 season, but the team ultimately needed a change. Here are some of the most likely candidates for the job.

5. Matt Eberflus, the current defensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts is going to get a lot of interviews this offseason but would make sense in Miami. The team has an excellent defense and can improve immensely with Eberflus at the helm. The only downfall of hiring Eberflus is that you would have to hire a big-name offensive coordinator to hopefully gel with Tua and to balance the coaching staff

4. Bill O’Brian, in six years with the Texans he led them to the playoffs in 5 of those years. O’Brian can really help this offense become something more than a middle of the pack group. As long as you keep the decision making out of his hands it would be a good hire.

3. Brian Daboll, a former assistant coach of the Dolphins has really made a name for himself running the Bills defense. Daboll is a prime candidate for teams this offseason and makes a ton of sense for Miami. His defensive scheme works perfectly with personnel on the team but like Eberflus you would need a big-name offensive coordinator to balance the team.

2. Jim Harbaugh, although reports say that he won’t leave Michigan his connections to Stephen Ross are apparent and hard to ignore. Harbaugh led the 49ers to a superbowl with a similar team build. He would be a perfect fit in terms of a leader for the young offense.

1. Jim Caldwell, one of the best coaching candidates available and one who would fit in almost any situation. He brings much needed leadership to the team and a winning culture feel to south Florida.
