What Comes of Joel Embiid's Injury

Joel Embiid missed the end of game 4 and will miss the entirety of game 5 tonight against Washington with an apparent knee injury. Today Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Embiid has a small tear in his meniscus and will be day-to-day going forward. (Source on twitter @wojespn) Embiid's career has been riddled with injuries so far and this just beong the newest one, earlier this season Embiid missed time after hyperextending that same knee. In his absence the team was able to stay afloat and gain the top seed in the East, however playoff basketball is different as we all know. The 76ers were looking primed to sweep the Wizards in this best of 7 series but in game 4 Embiid's injury seemed to give Washington glimmer of hope. To note no team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit. As for the team, Ben Simmons needs to step up and show he was worthy of that number one pick, Tobias Harris needs to become the number one scorer, and Danny Green and Seth Curry need to shoot lights out, that is if Embiid misses extended time. For now he is day-to-day but this change and a meniscus tear usually sidelines a player for weeks. A Wizards comeback is unlikely but not impossible, but I predict the 76ers get the job done tonight, wrap up the series and get the team some much needed rest before he next round.
