Well, another day, another franchise altering trade. This time it was the Washington Commanders acquiring Carson Wentz for two third round picks. The Commanders were shopping around for weeks, even called Kansas City about Patrick Mahomes, but end up with Carson Wentz at the end of the day. In a weak NFC East, Washington will look to run the division through their defense and a mediocre QB. Washington will also take on all $28 million that is owed to Wentz this season, including a $5 million dollar roster bonus next week. For Indianapolis you should be excited because you get to move on from Wentz, but you did give up a first round pick for a one year experiment, in which you missed the playoffs by losing in week 18 to a 2 win Jacksonville team. The Colts are now in need of a QB and the names swirling around are Jimmy Garoppolo and Deshaun Watson. Both of which have their own issues. My overall thoughts are that Washington is a mediocre QB away from competing and couldn’t get a bigger name while Indy is trying to consolidate their losses from a failure of a season.
