Tim Tebow is the move recent QB to switch positions to make a roster but he's the only one I know of that played baseball first. After his below average performance in the minor leagues Tebow is back, sort of. He hasn't officially signed with the Jaguars yet but is expected to sign after the all important June 1st deadline. I believe the team only has interest in Tebow for his relationship with first time NFL head coach Urban Meyer. I also believe he could act as a "bridge" between Meyer and newly acquired QB Trevor Lawrence. Tim could be a sense of ease for Lawrence as he knows Meyer very well. As for on the field who knows, but if it was purely for relation with Trevor he'd be hired on as a coach.
The other player turned tight end is Kelvin Benjamin, the former first round wide receiver from Carolina. He famously gained a lot of weight during his pro career especially after he tore his ACL before the 2015 season. He has been out of the league for a couple years now an decided to make a return as a tight end for the New York Giants, where he knows the General Manager, former Panthers General Manager David Gettleman. Benjamin has scarily similar stats to newly acquired WR Kenny Golladay, and could actually be a nice piece in a loaded skills room in New York.
