The 2021 preseason is upon us and the 2021 draft class is showing promise. The quarterbacks are my main focus through week one of the preseason and some things have become apparent. Justin Fields is the real deal in Chicago and if Matt Nagy does not start him week one it will be a grave mistake. In Jacksonville they have a real problem with the offensive line, they could not protect Trevor Lawrence. Zach Wilson is raw, and it shows, the Jets are in for a long season. Trey Lance has a cannon of an arm that could rival Allen and Mahomes. Those four quarterbacks should be slated in as week one starters, but my guess is that Lance and Fields sit for a bit. As for the other quarterback in the class, Mac Jones, He needs some time to process the speed of the NFL. He has the qualities of an NFL quarterback but does not have the timing yet. Some other rookies that have caught my eye are Micah Parsons who should be a shoe in for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Greg Rousseau has power up in Buffalo and could be the piece that puts them over the edge. Patrick Surtain II had a pick six and showed plenty of promise against another rookie who I was high on in Kellen Mond, who is not looking good. Elijah Moore is so good! And a side note for the end of the article Rashod Bateman getting injured really hurts the Ravens but the defense should hold them together for a little while.
