Ah yes the Packers once again luck out at the quarterback position. Over half of the the time that the Packers have been a franchise (1921) they have had a Hall of Fame quarterback under center, from Bart Starr to Brett Favre to now Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers requested a trade and was even considering retirement from the NFL if he did not get said trade but that all changed on Monday when he decided that he will give it one last go in Green Bay. The reigning MVP and teammate Devonte Adams posted on their Instagram stories a photo of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen signifying a "last Dance" style season in Green Bay as Adams' contract is up at the end of the season. The reason that Rodgers wanted out in the first place was that he did not like the General Manager of the team but now Aaron has already made a request that they go out and trade for former teammate Randall Cobb, who is currently in Houston. On the surface it seems far to bring back an old pal in Cobb but if you look a little deeper Cobb is on one of the worst contracts in the league. This season he is set to make $8.25 million with a cap hit of over $10 million. This news also means the 2020 first round pick Jordan Love will not see the field again this year, barring an injury, which will inherently stunt his NFL growth since Rodgers does not see himself as a mentor. It also makes it seem like a worthless waste of a pick. (it was) If Rodgers wants to come back and "get the band back together for a final ride" Green Bay should jump head over heels for this guy, because next year he will most likely end up in Denver as a member of the Broncos.
