Today how successful the Baltimore Ravens season could be, has been put into question if it wasn’t already. They had already lost Jk Dobbins to an ACL tear in their final game and they lost justice hill just the other day to the same injury. For some teams losing your starting and backup running back in a matter of days is dreadful but for the Ravens it’s next man up. That’s because the Ravens use a “running back by committee” approach in their backfield, meaning if one goes down the others can carry the load. And it was pretty apparent Gus Edwards was ready to carry that load on his own, he is one of four players to have 700+ rushing yards each of the last 4 seasons. Today however the running back seems to have suffered the same fate, a torn ACL, ending his season. The team made two subsequent moves today after the incident; first they promoted LeVeon Bell from the practice squad and signed Devonta Freeman to the squad. This only addresses the running back position though, on the very next play at Ravens practice after Edwards went down, star cornerback Marcus Peters suffers the same fluke injury promptly causing the coaches to end practice early. After a year full of progression and hope the Ravens are now looking at a season that could go to waste and will rely almost primarily on Lamar Jackson and Sammy Watkins.
