The Hawks took down the 76ers in game one yesterday behind a big game from Trae Young. Last week I said the 76ers need Joel Embiid to be healthy and consistent for them to win this series. Yesterday Joel seemed healthy enough but we don't know for sure. Trae dropped 35 points and 10 assists for his second 30 and 10 game of his playoff career while Embiid dropped 39 points and 9 rebounds and came up short. Atlanta beat the Knicks in 5 games in the first round and have got off to a good start against Philadelphia but what will it take to win the series? In game 1 Kevin Huerter came off the bench for 15 points, Bogdan Bogdanovic and John Collins both put up 21 points in their starting roles and Clint Capela put up a double double. All the pieces for Atlanta were working hard and putting up winning numbers to help Trae Young lead the team to victory. The 76ers had a good supporting cast as well which really makes this game an anomaly, Ben Simmons even shot 100% from the field but it just wasn't enough. There is a slim chance the Hawks take game 2 in Philadelphia but if the Hawks keep shooting the way they are, they win this series in 6 games.
