This is a list of each player I think is worth the franchise tag from every team although every team does not have to use the franchise tag
Cardinals- Chandler Jones DE/ Zach Ertz TE, The Cardinals put themselves in a pickle by trading for a guy on an expiring deal in Ertz but you can’t pass up on resigning a premiere edge rusher like Chandler Jones.
49ers- Laken Tomlinson G, The O-line needs to stay together to protect Trey Lance if that's who they decide to start.
Seahawks- Duane Brown LT, Only do this if you keep Russell Wilson, if he leaves, start the rebuild and let him go.
Rams- Von Miller OLB, He helps the team win the superbowl but his age can come into question with a long-term deal so the Tag seems safer.
Bears- Akiem Hicks DE, The Bears have 30 pending free agents this offseason, but Hicks is the cornerstone of the team. (Allen Robinson will be ineligible for the Tag)
Packers- Devonte Adams WR, The best WR in the league will be commanding $20 million a year so if the Packers wish to retain him, the Tag is the only option.
Vikings- Anthony Barr OLB, Barr fits into this defense and allows the other guys to fly around and make flashy plays and that’s why Minnesota should resign him.
Lions- No One, None of the pending free agents deserve top tier money so the Lions only concern should be the upcoming draft.
Panthers- Stephon Gilmore CB, The once DPOY has taken a step back since getting injured in the 2021 offseason but got back into form in Carolina this season. If the Panthers want to compete sooner rather than later keeping Gilmore around is the key.
Buccaneers- Jason Pierre-Paul DE, The Three fingered monster, he is one of the best pass rushers in the sport and the Bucs should look to keep him any way possible.
Falcons- Cordarrelle Patterson WR, He is a weapon on offense and if the two parties can’t agree on a long-term deal the franchise tag seems inevitable.
Saints- Marcus Williams FS, After his famous missed tackle on Stephon Diggs, Williams has been a top 5 safety in this league and will be for years to come.
Giants- Jabrill Peppers S, An all-around player who should get a big contract, deserving or not.
Cowboys- Michael Gallup WR, The Cowboys could afford to lose a receiver but not Gallup. He could be a #1 on most teams but is the most valuable #3 in the league.
Eagles- Anthony Harris FS, The Eagles signed him to a large 3 year deal and they should keep him on this team.
Commanders- Brandon Sherff G, The two parties should work out a long-term deal but f that falls through again the Tag might come into play.
Broncos- Kenny Young ILB, The Broncos invested in the Linebacker via trade this past season and it would be a shame if they let him go so quickly.
Chargers- Mike Williams WR, the most improved player from this past season and the perfect compliment to Keenan Allen.
Chiefs- Tyrann Mathieu S, The only good part of KC’s secondary Tyrann is to important for the Chiefs to let go.
Raiders- Jonathan Hankins DT, Vegas has almost everybody locked up for the next two years but they need Hankins for the sake of their run defense.
Steelers- Joe Haden CB/ Juju Smith-Schuster WR, Juju is younger but Haden is more valuable.
Bengals- Larry Ogunjobi DT, Riley Rieff is also a free agent but the way the O-line played last season means a total retool of that O-line in imminent. Ogunjobi is a key to their run defense and provides a big body in the middle of the field.
Browns- Jadeveon Clowney DE, He might not be worth the franchise tag money but the Browns cannot afford to lose him.
Ravens- Brandon Williams DT, The Ravens have a few pending free agents in this class like Calais Campbell, Jimmy Smith, Justin Houston and Sammy Watkins but Williams is the anchor to that defensive front.
Texans- Christian Kirksey ILB, With the emergence of Davis Mills and the looming Deshaun Watson scandal, you can’t waste your tag on Tyrod Taylor so they should invest in that very young defensive core.
Titans- Harold Landry LB, Their run defense was atrocious when Landry wasn’t on the field.
Jaguars- Cam Robinson LT, Andrew Norwell is a candidate for the Tag but Robinson seems more important.
Colts- Mark Glowinski G, That Indianapolis O-line has been on another level since they drafted Quentin Nelson, and Glowinski is an integral part of that group.
Patriots- J.C. Jackson CB, no other defensive player had the effects Jackson did to this secondary.
Dolphins- Emmanuel Ogbah DE, After two winning seasons thanks to their great defense I don’t see why the Dolphins shouldn’t want to keep him around.
Bills- Jerry Hughes DE/Mario Addison DE, Buffalo’s strategy of selecting a DE in last years draft makes a ton of sense now, they need to sign one or both of these guys to long-term deals or the franchise tag will come into play.
Jets- Marcus Maye FS, Even after his injury I believe Maye can be a top safety in this league but to sign him long-term might be a mistake.
