Draft Grades (NFC East)

Eagles: Philadelphia was able to leapfrog New York and take Heisman winner Devonta Smith a wide out out of Alabama. He was devalued because of his size and was able to fall to the 10th spot. In he second round they selected Landon Dickerson also from Alabama but he is a guard who was also devalued because of a ACL tear in December. They didn't take any other splash players but in the fifth round they selected runningback Kenny Gainwell, a decent change of pace back who could take the starting spot from Miles Sanders if he has another down year. Overall Grade: B-

Cowboys: Dallas traded back with the Eagles to the 12th spot and still got their guy, Micah Parsons. Parsons was a Heisman candidate out of Penn State before opting out of the season. Going heavy on defense they also selected cornerback Kelvin Joseph, defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa, Defensive end Chauncey Golston, and cornerback Nahshon Wright all on day 2 of the draft. All guys who can make a difference but need some time to hone in. Overall Grade: B-

Giants: New York was so pissed off that Philly leapfrogged them the GM for the team traded back for the first time ever. It was rumored that they would take Smith at 11 if he was available and the rumor was confirmed when they traded back and selected Kadarius Toney out of Florida. Toney is good but we don't know how good since he was never covered by the number guy on an opposing team. They did however get first round talent at pick 50 selecting Azeez Ojulari which saves their grade quite a bit. In the fifth round they took Gary Brightwell, a nice piece if Saquan Barkley can't stay heathy. Overall Grade: A-

Football Team?: Washington was a prime candidate to move up for a QB but decided to stand their ground and help their already good defense. They selected Jamin Davis at 20, a raw linebacker out of Kentucky who will see the field day one and help this all-star defense get this team over the hump. They also took a tackle to help their troubled offensive line, that tackle being Samuel Cosmi, who I like for obvious reasons. CB Benjamin St-Juste and WR Dyami Brown were their selections in the third round, not day one starters but guys who will see the field more and more as the season progresses. Overall Grade: A
