Draft Grades (AFC North)

Bengals: The Bengals were in a fantastic position to draft a player who could protect Joe Burrow especially after his gruesome injury last season. The team however, thinks that their scheme will work this year so they decided to get Burrow another weapon. Ja'Marr Chase is an excellent receiver but I think they missed a golden opportunity. In the second round they did draft a tackle, Jackson Carman out of Clemson, who will help and it may be immediate considering their other choices. Their next 3 picks focused entirely on the defensive line in which the overspent during free agency to get Trey Hendrickson away from the Saints. Oh and they drafted a kicker in the fifth round. Overall Grade: C+

Steelers: Pittsburgh addressed a glaring offensive need in runningback. The team has been floundering since Leveon Bell left in free agency and this year they took Najee Harris with the 24th overall selection. In the second round they took a tight end, Pat Freiermuth who probably won't see the field his rookie season. Finally in rounds three and four they took a guard and a tackle but neither of whom are pro-ready. They did not pick a quarterback which is a red flag and they took a punter in the 7th round. Overall Grade: B-

Ravens: Somebody throw a parade! The Ravens finally took a receiver who seems worth it in the first round. Rashod Bateman a receiver out of Minnesota is a playmaker that can really help Lamar Jackson's offense out. Bateman could definitely be up for the Rookie of the year contention, but it all depends on how they use him. In the first round they also took an above average linebacker in Odafe Oweh out of Penn State and in the third round the took a behemoth of a man in Ben Cleveland who should be a day one starter. Overall Grade: A

Browns: The Browns had a rather lackluster draft. At pick 26, in my opinion they reached for Greg Newsome a cornerback out of Northwestern. In the second they took Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah a defensive end with a first round grade. They also took a speedy wideout in Anthony Schwartz and a hybrid offensive player in Demetric Felton. They didn't address their glaring need at linebacker so that brings them down a letter grade. Overall Grade: B-
