In light of the start of NBA free agency I thought I would write about a recent NFL injury. Carson Wentz has gone down with an apparent foot injury and could miss the start of the season, and today the news broke that he will miss at least 5 weeks. Oh, and he could miss up to 12 weeks That hurts the Colts chances of starting off the season strong or starting the season with a win at all. The Colts first five games of the season is a tough slate starting with home games against the Seahawks and Rams in weeks 1 & 2. Both of those weeks you could have argued they would lose anyways but it seems inevitable now. The next three weeks after that the Colts go on a road trip visiting the Titans, Dolphins and Ravens in that order, all losable games with Carson but impossible wins without him. Jacob Eason does not have any experience and he has been named the current starter by head coach Frank Reich. The Colts barely snuck into the postseason last year and have a slim to none chance to repeat this season. Maybe the Carson Wentz experiment is over before it ever started.
