Blowing Up The Bears

Ryan Poles has made it very clear that the roster construction of old is not how he wants to run this football team. He has made a number of moves this week to make this team better, including trading star defensive end Khalil Mack. On Thursday the deal was made to send Mack to Los Angeles to become a Charger and play alongside Joey Bosa, a perennial pro bowler himself. Poles has also released fan favorite Tarik Cohen with an injury designation after he tore his ACL in week 3 of the 2020 season and subsequently failed a physical this week. Eddie Goldman (DT) was also released today after 7 seasons with the team to add to the causalities of the rebuild. The Bears are set up to be successful in the future and these moves prove that. Going 7-10 next season while spending a ton of money on a couple players is not ideal. It's clear they will give the new head coach a long leash through this rebuild and will focus on the development of Justin Fields. So for Bears fans, the next few years will suck but you have to look towards the future.
