The US men's team has lost two games in a row in exhibition play after going 54-2 since 1992. In 1992 the dream team was established. The team with Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and famously no Isiah Thomas. Since that year the Us has won six golds and one bronze medal, with that bronze coming in Greece in 2004. These Olympics are the first since 2000 that Carmelo Anthony has not been on the team, and I'm not saying he is the most important guy to the US Olympic team but they haven't won a game yet without him. On Saturday they lost to a Nigeria team that boasted five NBA players but none of which the average fan could name. That Nigeria team lost in 2016 to the US team by a staggering 80+ points. Their next loss came by the hands of Patty Mills and Joe Ingles of team Australia, who is a real threat to the US in these Olympics. By any means though I believe the US team have the most talented roster and the best roster in these Olympics and when the games matter they will step it up and win. And most importantly, win gold.
